

Into the Past of the HolocaustI was just 4 years old when I and my 5 1/2 year old brother, Charles, were separated from our parents and sent to a Protestant Orphanage in Belgium. 4 year old Lili Silberman. I was a very depressed and somewhat confused child back then. In fact, I actually started to believe that all children lived afar from their own parents. After a few months in the orphanage, the director became certain that the Germans would find the few hidden Jewish children, so they sent us back. Knowing that, it seemed like I was happy for the very first time. I expected for my parents to feel the same when they see me…… Unfortunately, it was the exact oInto the Past of the Holocaust
